Yesterday morning, I attended the ceremony at Clyde Rd for the presentation of accreditation parchments to a number of Institutes of Technology and Universities, in respect of various of their courses which have been accredited during the year.
Cyril Burkley, Chair of the Accreditation Committee presided, accompanied by Denis McGrath, Registrar, and Debbie O'Sullivan. Athlone, Carlow, Dublin, Dundalk, Galway-Mayo, Letterkenny, Limerick, Sligo, and Tralee Institutes of Technology all attended, together with DCU, UL, NUIG, NUIM, and UCC. Various courses were accredited for Engineering Technician, Associate Engineer, and Chartered Engineer.
The ceremony was followed by an interesting invited lecture on the teaching of engineering ethics, by Prof. Raffaella Ocone, followed by Q&A. The lecture will be available on our Engineers TV early next week.
