Yesterday afternoon we had a scheduled meeting of the Finance Committee at Clyde Road, chaired as usual by Brian Kavanagh.
Our preliminary un-audited accounts for the full year 2009 indicate a very satisfactory result, given the pressure on the economy. Some of earlier meetings in the year, as I posted at the time, expressed concern about the likely year end outcome, and so it is very pleasing that the year appears now to have turned out with a reasonable result. The details will be presented at our imminent Council meeting at the end of this month.
We also considered the appointment of additional Trustees to our pension schemes; the status of what appears to be a good new Member Benefits scheme, which we intend to launch for all Members in the very near term; some pragmatic revisions to the benevolent fund levy, which will now be proposed to Council for consideration; an update on the ground rent negotiations for Clyde Road, and finally agreeing metrics for the performance of the organisation in 2010.
