The Young Engineers Society Ball was held last night at the Hilton Hotel in Dublin, kindly sponsored by ESBI and AIB.
About 120 people attended, most looking wonderful in 1920's Manhattan themes, flappers and all! By prior private agreement as "old engineers", John Power and I chickened out and turned up in our regular tuxes.
A very pleasant evening, thanks to Katie O'Neill, Caroline Butler, Caroline Rocks, Barry Stokes and many others whose effort made it successful.
Separately, I heard from Barry Stokes and Kevin Dolan that last week's Engineers Ireland Jobseekers event had been very good, in fact severely running over time, with some positive feedback on Boards.ie. Some online social networking follow up is also planned.
