Joined a meeting at Clyde Road this afternoon chaired by Damien Owens, with John Power, John Byrne and Richard Seaver, to review the current architecture of IT systems, in the light of our investments over the summer, and to consider how these might be further developed in a cost effective and resilient manner for the future.
Our new systems - web site, membership, register, and meeting organisation - are working well, together of course with our Engineers TV, and are delivering benefits perhaps beyond what we initially had planned. However it is prudent to consider a medium term vision - say over the next 5 years or so - on how we expect our systems to be carried forward.
Damien and Richard have been asked to prepare a report for our forthcoming Executive meeting.
